Multi-Site Renovations & Upgrades at Shoreline Parks
FORMA’s ongoing $26M Progressive Design-Build collaboration with the City of Shoreline will deliver a range of upgrades, installations, and new construction at eight occupied Shoreline parks.
Awarded in the summer of 2022, our team engaged in critical investigative work and early Basis of Design development in order to build an initial program estimate for reconciliation with the City’s previously established budget–almost five years old and representative of an economy less impacted by escalation and supply chain challenges.
Through regular Big Room collaborative workshops with the full PDB team and stakeholders, we used FORMA’s budget control framework to flex scope in and out of the program and examine the cost and schedule implications of design, sequencing, and systems solutions in order to arrive collaboratively at a multi-phase approach that fits within the City’s budget and satisfies the Bond promises made to voters.
Now under phased construction, our teams are at work on multiple sites, building new walkways, park structures, and site furnishings; installing landscaping, lighting, fencing, play equipment, sidewalks, signage, synthetic turf….with much much more to come.
