Preserving Olympia’s History as a Working Waterfront

A goal many years in the making, we were joined by project partners from the South Sound Maritime Heritage Association (SSMHA), the Port of Olympia, Thomas Architecture Studios, interested community members, and the press to watch the 240-ton crane work its magic.
If you’re in the area we encourage you to come by to visit this Olympia icon, and stay tuned right here for updates — we hear there are plans in the works for an informational maritime walkway connecting Parthia to Olympia’s other historic tugboat, Sand Man, still afloat at Percival Landing. In the meantime, please enjoy this link for a lot more detail on this local maritime legend.
