Community Transit Admin Building & Operations Base Expansion & Renovations
FORMA planned and managed a major expansion and complex renovations on Community Transit’s 22-acre Hardeson Campus Operations Base — active 24/7 — with no impact to or restrictions on the nearly 700 transit vehicles on site — sharing access lanes, repair facilities, and infrastructure with FORMA crews.
Performed in overlapping phases via two separate contracts on the same busy occupied campus, FORMA managed the major modernization of CT’s multi-story Administration building; as well as construction of a 16,000 sf addition to house a new body shop and paint booth for the bus fleet; renovations to the existing Vehicle Maintenance Facility, Fuel Island, and bus wash; relocation of utilities, and all associated site work. Installation of a 60′ x 172′ 8′ deep underground stormwater detention tank and expansion of on-site stormwater systems to mitigate civil complexities on site was also a part of our work.
Precision sequencing, flexibility, and constant coordination were crucial in maintaining an efficient work flow, as well as safe and uninterrupted activities for Community transit’s critical operations.
