JOC in Your Inbox: Part Three
Who’s this bashful looking fellow you ask? It’s Charlie Choker of course, the unique and delightful mascot of Grays Harbor College in Aberdeen, and he brings you our third installment of FORMA’s JOC email serial: celebrating the big and powerful services that make small and fast-moving projects possible in Job Order Contracting.
As you might have guessed, this month we’re featuring our work at Grays Harbor College, where FORMA is currently building a new 70,000 sf, three-story Student Services building under a traditional dbb contract, as well as managing a smallish (but also very nice) T/I in the school’s gym via JOC delivery. Our third deep dive into JOC stories showcases these two projects at GHC and demonstrates how the value engineering, scheduling, safety, field documentation, and closeout services FORMA provides for each are the same proven services that ensure success–regardless of project size or contracting method.
A unique and adaptable alternative delivery method, JOC allows public agencies to select a GC partner for a two-year term of on-call collaboration and expert procurement to deliver a wide range of smaller scale projects (typically under $500K per work order).
Each year, our responsive JOC teams perform hundreds of wide ranging construction repairs and upgrades on public facilities and infrastructure across the region–with tangible benefits for the civic owners, client agencies, local taxpayers, and the small and historically underutilized businesses in the community with whom we contract to complete the work.
To get the word out to more public agencies and OMWBEs about the benefits of Job Order Contracting and to celebrate its myriad opportunities and accomplishments, we’re circulating a JOC success story regularly via newsletter, like this one.
