Voyage of the Megan D.
We couldn’t be more excited to share the news from last week about the Megan D–a 56′ vintage wooden schooner–making its way to its new home at the Hands on Children’s Museum.
Retired FORMA carpenters and volunteers have donated more than 1200 hours to the salvage and on-going restoration of this authentic buccaneer ship in order to transform it into a permanent exhibit at the museum, where it will be open to kiddos later this summer.
For more on this incredible volunteer effort, check out these great videos and interviews we’ve done along the way, courtesy of The Olympian and Q13FOX.
