When it rains it pours. Unless it doesn’t, and instead the sun comes out. And 400+ students in little yellow hardhats help us kick off construction.

The week before our official Groundbreaking event at the new Blakely Elementary School on Bainbridge Island was clear and unseasonably warm. This morning though–the day our project team has had circled on our schedules for many months–began with pounding rain and snow flurries.

No matter. By the time the afternoon rolled around the sun was out and so were the 400+ students of Blakely Elementary School in kid-sized hard hats, along with our awesome GC/CM team, and enthusiastic community members.
