Washington Center for the Performing Arts Renovation

Opened in 1985, the well-loved downtown Olympia theater mostly known as “The Center” has welcomed nearly two million guests to plays, standup comedy, music and dance performances, “stunt dog experiences,” and much more. With little remodeling done in all that time, FORMA was brought on to plan and manage major interior deconstruction and upgrades to reinvigorate WCPA facilities and delight future audiences.

FORMA’s work involved extensive demo and replacement of finishes and fixtures throughout–including 40,000 sf of new carpet, 1,000 new seats, new paint and wall treatments, and reprogramming of old and unused spaces into new concessions, kitchen, cloak room, and administrative areas.

Project of the Year Award – APWA 2024

I feel fortunate to be supported by such an all-star team.
