Student Services Building, Grays Harbor College

FORMA recently worked with Opsis Architecture, KMB Architects, and the Department of Enterprise Services to build the new 70,000 sf tulalW Student Center on Grays Harbor College’s occupied campus in Aberdeen.

The Quinault word for “together,” tulalW is a fitting name for the school’s newest building that serves as a welcoming entry to GHC and connects campus and community. A centralized location for administrative services and social gathering spaces, the 3-story student hub houses the college Bookstore, a coffee bar, cafĂ© and dining area; the Office of Student Life, Veterans Lounge, Diversity Equity Center, and offices for Advising and Counseling, Enrollment and Financial Aid; as well as conference and meeting rooms and a third-floor event center with facilities to host 450 people.

With expanded options and space for dining and events, the new building also houses the school’s Culinary Arts program, advancing GHC’s mission to prepare students for the workforce through curriculum designed to meet industry and regional needs. A state of the art culinary lab, commercial kitchen facilities, and student-run dining venues integrate hands-on training kitchens with on-site food service, giving students real-world experience in food preparation and hospitality–making the tulalW Student Center a hub for workforce-ready education and community engagement.
