The MTA’s innovative new Transit-Community Center offers education, recreation, training and mobility programs, and is the first facility of its kind in the country.
Delivered by FORMA in just 11 months under a GC/CM collaboration with the Mason Transit Authority and their design team, construction involved renovating the 1950’s Shelton Armory and connecting a new, two-story addition via a light-filled atrium.
A cornerstone for economic development and revitalization, the new facility houses a gym/event space; full commercial & teaching kitchen; computer lab, conference, office & training spaces; ticketing and transit customer service facilities; as well as ground-floor retail units available to lease for local small businesses.
