AHS PH2 & PH3: Anacortes HS Replacement

Sequenced in multiple phases, this major GC/CM collaboration involved more than 160,000 sf of new construction and comprehensive modernizations to select remaining facilities on this occupied public high school campus.

Phase I work added the new Rice Field Athletic complex and Veterans Memorial Plaza to the school; Phase II added a secure new main academic building–a state of the art centerpiece of the modernized campus. The new building features larger classrooms, STEM labs and art studios, library, counseling center, cafeteria & dining, and new central kitchen facilities to serve all Anacortes schools in support of the District’s emphasis on scratch cooking. Boasting flexible open spaces full of light and views, and seamlessly integrated technology, secure decks, and abundant outdoor learning spaces–the new school is outfitted with laptop charging stations and interactive flat panel displays throughout to encourage team collaboration, flexibility, and creativity.

Recently complete, Phase III involved a comprehensive modernization of the gym, weight room, and exercise lab facilities; a completely remodeled Brodniak Auditorium; and a new 10,000 sf Career & Technical Education Wing–housing a Manufacturing Lab & Inventors Lab, and state of the art Digital Media classrooms. Phase III work also involved construction of the new 3,000 sf, stand-alone Cap Sante HS for alternative learning, final demo of the original school, and all associated site work.

FORMA's performance on this project has been excellent, with an open, honest approach to solving problems, communicating transparently and collaborating with the team to move work forward.
