“I’m so excited to meet this new school!” – Olympic View Scholar

With demo of the original campus complete, we are off and running on the construction of a new Olympic View K-8 School in Federal Way

Originally built in 1962, Olympic View Elementary is the 7th of 8 aging schools to be rebuilt as part of the Federal Way School District’s successful 2017 bond measure, thanks to the overwhelming support of local voters.

The new Olympic View campus will merge elementary and middle school facilities–providing greater capacity, collaboration, and opportunities for personalized learning, innovation and exploration.

Design of the new two-story, 67,000 sf school was developed in collaboration with Olympic View scholars, staff, and community members to ensure a student-centered design with an emphasis on high quality learning experiences, natural light and materials, open spaces, outdoor instruction areas, and enhanced security.

To celebrate the start of construction, FWPS shared this nice virtual Groundbreaking video, hosted by Superintendent Dr Dani Pfeiffer, and featuring the School Board President and Principal of Olympic View; as well as the thoughts and reactions of Olympic View students as they’re treated to a sneak peek of their new school’s fly-through model.

Olympic View K-8 is on schedule to be completed next summer and opened to students in the Fall of 2023–stay tuned for updates as we build!
