FORMA Construction is honored to be building the new K-12 School in Taholah Washington
We gathered last week with School District representatives, government officials, students, staff, project partners, and members of the community and Quinault Indian Nation to break ground on a new 75,000 sf school campus that will replace the existing school in the lower village — an area vulnerable to flooding, earthquakes, and tsunamis.
Years in the making, this collaboration between the Taholah School District, the Quinault Business Council, state legislators, and local families is part of Washington’s School Seismic Safety Grant Program recognizing the urgent need to move students to higher ground; and is just one component of the community’s greater upland relocation effort. Sited 150 feet above sea level on an elevated coastal bluff, the new wood-frame and structural steel K-12 school will serve 250+ students and will be a key component of the new upper Taholah village development also underway — with around 300 new residences planned, along with health care and community amenities.
You can learn more about the project here and here, and stay tuned right here for news about upcoming bidding opportunities and the construction updates we’ll post as we work toward opening to students in 2027. We’re so proud to be a part of this incredible project and this resilient community.
