“I hope every single kid–anywhere anytime–can explore the Megan D.” – Allister, Age 7

Retired FORMA carpenters and volunteers have donated more than 1200 hours to the salvage and painstaking restoration of the Megan D–a 56′ vintage wood schooner transformed into a hands-on, explorable, authentic buccaneer ship complete with masts, crow’s nest, steering wheel, and walkie talkie. (But sorry, no secret passageways. That we can talk about.)

With our work complete and this swashbuckling exhibit open at the Hands On Children’s Museum in Olympia, we’re proud to share this excellent video of some little kids’ reactions to it, and their descriptions of some of their favorite parts.
