Hands On Children’s Museum
FORMA played an integral role in all phases of the planning, design and construction of the new 28,000 sf, 3 story Hands On Children’s Museum on Olympia’s East Bay waterfront.
The first children’s museum in the world to receive Green Globes certification from the Green Building Initiative, the LEED Gold certified, 3 Globe facility includes a half acre of outdoor exhibits that ties the museum into the greater East Bay Plaza redevelopment project, also built by FORMA. Featuring a 250 foot reclaimed water feature, the interactive urban park was built on a formerly contaminated brownfield site and provides public visibility and education about the importance and interconnectedness of our water resources.
